New Patient Information
Becoming A New Patient
Welcome! We are thrilled and honoured you’ve chosen us to be your dental team.
We are committed to you and your dental needs! Below you will find information related to your first visit with us. You’ll meet a few of our team members during your visit with us, a Dentist and Dental Hygienist, an Assistant and Receptionist. Together we will make your stay a pleasant and stress free one. Your comfort is our number one!
An Adult’s First Appointment- What to Expect
Typically, an hour and a half, your first appointment with us involves a thorough and comprehensive exam. We base our treatment recommendations off of our findings, so that your care is individualized to you and your needs. No judgement here- whether it has been 6 months, a few years or more, we are ready to help you achieve your dental needs and a healthy smile! Our receptionist can inform you on the length of stay with us so you can plan accordingly!
We begin all appointments with a detailed medical history, this provides pertinent information to us in how your health relates to your oral cavity and vice versa. There is a strong oral systemic link, to provide safe and thorough dental care a medical history including current medications/supplements is crucial.
Please remember to bring
- List of medications
- Insurance information if applicable
- Names and numbers of Doctors/Specialists
- Arrive 15 minutes early to complete the necessary paperwork
X-Rays
If you have current x-rays, we are happy to request them from your previous dental office on your behalf. Simply provide the office name and location to us or complete this form and email or fax it to us.
We then complete a head and neck assessment, an extra oral and intra oral examination. Update x-rays as required, utilize our intra oral camera to take pictures of our findings ie) fillings to monitor or replace and then we explain a detailed evaluation of our findings. We ensure enough time to review treatment options and to answer any questions or concerns you may have.
Depending on the length of time between your last dental cleaning, a cleaning may be completed during this initial appointment. If unable to complete your cleaning within this first visit a subsequent cleaning appointment would be reviewed with you during our treatment planning.
For more information related to a first visit, please call the office! We look forward to meeting you.

A Child’s First Visit
Wow! This is exciting! We can’t wait to meet your little one, whether it’s their first or second or third time to the Dentist we are eager to offer a ride in the chair, show and tell and share lots of fun and beneficial information to you and them!
We will take the first appointment at their speed, some children feel a little hesitant to come in, others walk right in and that’s ok! Allow us the opportunity to guide the flow of the appointment. Sometimes children do better with Mom or Dad in the room, and sometimes they do best on their own!
What You Can Share with Your Child Before Their Visit!
- We have a cool chair to take a ride on! You can go really high or really low!
- We love counting teeth! First, we like to count fingers, to make sure our special counter is working! Did you know that a dolphin can have almost a 100 teeth?!
- We have some fun tools to show you! Mr. Slurpy, Miss Tickler and more!
- Glove balloons are our favourite, especially when we make funny faces on them!
- We have cartoons to watch! And the best part is we have TWO tv’s in each room! That’s crazy!!
- We love to talk about brushing teeth, healthy snacks and habits!
- When we’re all done, you get a new toothbrush and PRIZES! Woo hoo!!
- We can’t wait to meet you! Pick out a special toy to bring with you so we can see one of your favourite things!
